Black Mamba is a band fascinated by everything what is associated with roots in reggae music. During their concerts they are able to create a truly familiar atmosphere along with the audience, which guarantees excellent fun for people of all generations. The band’s repertoire is mainly comprised of songs written by themselves, inspired by 1970s, 80s and 90s music. Moreover, at their performances you can hear several well-known covers and also songs based on classic ‘riddims’ in new adaptations prepared by the band. What is especially appealing in the band’s mission is that through concentrating on positive message about life, at the same time it does not refrain from difficult topics. The band, against the ubiquitous impact of ‘plastic’ sounds, makes an effort to reach deeper and play in an ‘old style’. Black Mamba is created by nine musicians with the enriching tones of the wind section, an extended rhythmic section, legendary Hammond organs, piano, solo guitar and a wonderfully enchanting voice of the vocalist, which, with its pulsations introduces the listeners to a peaceful, full of warmth and joy-mood and makes their hips move involuntarily…Comprised of experienced musicians, well-known from formations such as: Project Zion, ComeYah, Wanted, Indygo, Alchemia, Gospel Rain or Whisky, the band has been highly acclaimed with a considerable number of fantastically accepted performances in Poland, starting from small clubs and finishing on large scenes. In addition, Black Mamba has numerous major achievements, supporting widely renowned Polish artists (Junior Stress, DAAB, Maleo Reggae Rockers, Habakuk, Cala Gora Barwinkow, Alicetea, Henry & Louis, Sloma and Przedwietrze, or Antonina Krzyszton among others). Also, the band was the laureate of the Audience’s Prize during the Student Festival of Alternative Music in 2009.

Netlabels and turntablism – two seemingly very fresh notions, yet without them for some guys our world would appear unbearably miserable. Matam and Master’s Voice – the authors’ of the Good Netlabels third compilation – definitely belong to these people. You may know the first gentleman from goodnetlabels.blogspot.com, and the other one, as he admits, is the most useless but still third element of tablism.com, famous European scratch board. Not so long ago mixtapes were rather a peculiar sign of modernity. Nowadays, tapes became a synonym of the past. At the end of the first decade of the 21st century, Matam and Master’s Voice approached this invention as they should in the present- day. Breaking the schemes, they’ve made a mixtape together, and their collaboration was based only on contacts via the internet. Thanks to that, we’ve received a unique mix full of netlabel’s Nu- Jazz, Downtempo, Hip- Hop, and some pleasant, quality scratches.

Dear fellows! 2010 has began with a huge explosion. The banger that was meant to fly up to the sky burnt Greg’s sleeve instead, then flashed with invisible light just behind the walls of the city.
So here we take off into a new resounding year. In spring 2010 Foona / P.T.C-Crew /, Vombat’s first live reggae artist (Sweden), is releasing his new album that we’re personally very curious about.
We’re on the border of a new exciting journey people…take your seats in Jamaican Gondole. We’re sailing right to the source of the dub – roots river of music.

Live on Vombat from Club – Cafe ” Meskal “ in Poznan / Poland Denis Jones is a self-taught guitarist and songwriter from Lancashire, UK. Having begun his musical life as a singer songwriter in the classic UK mould of the likes of John Martyn, he has over the last three years developed a show-stopping live performance based around the core of his exceptional and unique guitar-playing style and rich, soulful voice. Utilising a loop station and all manner of samplers and effects, Denis creates vast, complex orchestrations of beat-box rhythms, multi-layered vocals and other-wordly sounds which veer from subtle heart-wrenching folk and blues to heavy bass-driven electronica.

Denis has collaborated with many high profile artists from all over Europe, including a track with Dusseldorf artist Kemo which was included on Marcus Intelex’s Fabric Live 35 compilation. He has also worked with John Ellis and Luke Flowers (Cinematic Orchestra), Jon Thorne (Lamb) and Henry Da Massa (Micah P Hinson), all of whom appear on Denis’s recordings. He has played all over Europe, as far afield as Lithuania, Georgia and Croatia, as well as festival shows in the UK including Secret Garden Party (after a personal invite from BBC Radio 1 DJ Eddy Temple-Morris), Glastonbury, End of The Road, Great Escape, Big Chill and Futuresonic. He has supported Amp Fiddler at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Efterklang at Bush Hall, Chris Corsano, Kieran Hebden and Steve Reid and many more.
His performance at Futuresonic in May 2008 has resulted in an invitation for Denis to be one of only three musicians on the new Futuresonic artist development program, FuturesFamily, which will include a specially curated performance at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for 2009’s Futuresonic festival.
Denis’s debut album, Humdrum Virtue, was released in 2007 in a unique limited edition industrial packaging, designed by Denis himself, selling out rapidly and leading to the re-issue of the album in a slightly more conventional, but still striking packaging. Tracks from the album have been included on compilations in Europe and Canada. A second album is almost complete and there are plans for more collaboration projects involving the musicians Denis has worked with from Manchester, Germany and Lithuania.
